Should I be a security guard? |
I have an interview soon for a security guard position and I don't know what to expect if I get hired. How much do they usually pay? What do you guard? Is it boring? Any info would be great because I'm thinking about not going to the interview. I need money desperately bad though. I have two kids, so I need a job. If you need money ---Go to the interview and take the job if you get it. Then you can look for a different one while you have some money. Security jobs do not pay well. They are usually about $8- $10 an hour jobs around here. You cannot live on that and you cannot support a family on it. You would probably get on the night shift being the new person . That would enable you to have time to go looking for a real paying job during the day. You usually guard their assets as in everything when the busines is closed. You look for people or employees stealing company property. It usually is a boring job. I have seen some though where you have to do an awful lot, like check all of the fire extinguishers, run lots of security cameras, check eye wash stations, check smoke detectors, check people in and out of the premises, etc. |
