Do i need my social security card to get my id?

when i go to the dmv do i need my social secuirty card to get my ID?

Most states require both a birth certificate and a Social Security card as identification when you apply for a driver's license.

Every time I've gone to get an ID or license I've always had to have my SS card and birth certificate. You might want to take them with you just to be sure.
