When I call for an interview, what do I ask? Security related jobs!!!?

this is in NYC by the way. I recently got certified with the 8 hour and 16 hour required classes. my license should be arriving in a few more weeks. I'm 18 and with no experience. What do I say when I call these security companies up?

Simply ask if they are hiring and if they are ask about their hiring requirements and ask for a personal interview.

Your training should have given you something to go on about what to expect when trying to find employment.

Does the training facility have a placement service?

Good luck to you.

Hello, I'm calling for the hiring manager, are they available?

Hello, is Human Resources available please?

(after you are connected)

"Hi, my name is Bob Smith, I was calling to inquire about an open security position you might have available? I just completed my ______ certification, and I think I would be a great fit for your company. May I send you my resume?"

or

"Hi, this is Bob, I was calling regarding an open security position you might have available. Do you have a moment so we can talk about what it would take to schedule an interview?"

or

"Hi, this is Bob. I am calling because I have heard great things about your company- i recently recieved my _____ certification, and was hoping that we could schedule a time to meet to go over my qualifications in case I'd be a good fit for your company?"

I used to be an executive recruiter. The best way to get in the door is to create a presentation. They hear the SAME thing all the time from candidates. Present yourself like your selling your skills, and you'd be amazed at the results.

You may have trouble getting through the "gatekeeper", or the secretary (operator). If so, just say your name, and that you'd like to speak with a hiring manager, or HR, regarding a matter of employment. DONT let them direct you to a website- you need to talk to the decision maker on the phone.
