They are taking away social security from my mom who is still a widow can they do this? |
My mom is 52 and she received a letter from Social Security saying because I am turning 16 in October they are stopping her Social Security benefits. Can they do this? She is still a widow. I am also wondering she recently bought another house, is this affecting her Social Security? The letter says they will continue my benefits until I am 18. Why are they taking it away from her though? What should I do??? ='( She was receiving money for me and her, she got one check for me and another for her. Perhaps you are no longer considered a "dependent"? Why don't you call the local Soc. Sec. office and find out. The money your mother has been receiving is for you - it is not her pension. |
