Permitted to work scheme? |
My husband after years of mental illness is now on the road to recovery, in the past month he has started on the permitted to work scheme whilst receiving incapacity benefit. He works 15 hours a week and got a letter confirming that he can do this on this scheme and thankfully he seems to be doing him the world of good until ..... he got a letter from the social security agency advising him he has to go for a medical ... So does this mean that he can/will be taken off his incapacity benefit ? and do you go or not? SOCIAL SECURITY JUST WANTS TO KNOW IF HE IS STILL ILL .. IF THEY FIND THAT HE IS .. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT .. THEY DID THE SAME THING WITH ME .. IT'S JUST A MEDICAL CHECK UP !! NO WORRIES !! well, if you have been summonsed i think you probably have to go...but you are subject to oeriodic medicals when on incapacity benefit anyway. this is tricky but you have to hope theyre doing the right thing for you. maybe ignore the firtst letter and see if they send another? as he has gone on permitted work legitimately he should be ok, but i would ignore this letter and only go if they send another. and if they do, just be honest. if they say he ahs to come off ook for additional help fro the jobcentre, such as access to work when he starts a new job. |
