Is this solicting and thief? |
To-day I was at the Woodbine Slots where I use dup $240 to win nothing. I thought I might receive some points and earn enough for a dinner coupon and perhaps $10-20 in cashback so I asked a few people I saw who had no memebership rewards cards if I could put my card in their machine and collect thier points. All said "yes" except for one man who got excited about it and ran after me and called security to say I was stealing points from people. Security made a report and "placed a flag on my card". I told the security the man was abusing me by talking to security and saying I was stealing etc. Security did not pay any attention to me and wrote a report. I then went to some higher up security who happened to be the Ontario Provincial Police who told me that I was "Soliciting and stealing from other and had me removed from the slots for 24 hours . Took my licence plate down and told me to not come to the premises for 24 hours and had the parking lot security watch my car. I don't see this as stealing as long as you asked the other customers if it was alright to do what you did. I didn't know you could collect an-others points by doing that! In a sense it would be illegal, but don't know the law on it . I used to have 6 cards from different casinos. Finally got smart & quit & tore them all up!! |
