Nurse falsifying medical information at an ER?

I was going to report her formally for being abusive to a patient who she threatened with security because he came out of his room to ask if he would be seen soon. I asked her for her name after I had sand she threatened to call security on me. She wrote in my record that I had abusively demanded narcotics from the staff nurses and I was drug seeking. I did not even complain of severe pain. My pain scale was 4 out of 1-10.

I have no history of drug abuse of any kind. I even have a prescription note for codeine with phenergan that I never filled since May 10, 2008 at home. I don't even drink alcohol. This is a public ER facility. I am a disabled veteran who could not make it to the VA while I was sick b/c it is 2 hours away. I feel devastated that she would put this in my record when it is a lie. Not to mention, her entries are out of time chronology and she wrote that she called security on me but it was after I had left the department and officially checked out with the receptionist

Hi - sorry to hear youve had this problem, the NHS has a bad enough rep already without people like this!

When I worked for NHS (for nearly 10years) any complaints that were raised went straight to the complaints department and most were copied to the Chief Executive. I suggest you do the same thing, phone the switchboard and ask for the address of the complaints or PALS (Patients Liason Service) department and write to them, stating the facts as youve done here. Copy the letter to the Chief Executive (again, switchboard would be able to supply the name). If you can quote times that would be especially helpful.
