Boss not paying me?

So today, a group of teenager girls stole several expensive bags from my store.. I instantly got security after them, but right when they got to the bus stop the bus pulled up and drove away. This was around 4:15... I talked to security, gave descriptions and so forth. By 5:00 everything was quiet and settled down. My manager came at 5:30 to see what bags were missing and what not. I was schedualed to 5:45, but I stayed till 6, but no one needed me and everything was settled. I go and catch the bus, and am halfway home when my boss calls me and is all GET BACK HERE SO YOU CAN TALK TO THE POLICE BLAH BLAH BLAH. So even though i was off, and it was 2 hours later, I was forced to go back to the store (which is in a mall) and wait. My manager wouldnt let me clock in and said i wouldnt get paid.. So I told her im calling headoffice tomorrow since I didnt leave till 7, and its not my fault the police didnt show up till then. Does she have to pay me for that time that I was forced to stay?

Fine line. The police could have rightfully questioned you at home and still took the time and you wouldn't have been paid or due. But, since your employer asked you to report to work, she became liable for your pay.

Yes. You were there on store business and you were told to go back. They have to pay you for that time.

Put the time on your time card and if you aren't paid for it go to the labor board and file a complaint.
