DO you think its right to suspend someone for a year because they have brought a closed up bb gun on a bus? |
I HAD NO INTENT ON shooting any one ... i just bought from a friends house and the fastest way home was to cut through the school grounds but i saw a bus there that was going to leave so i went on it and then the security guard randomly asked me to open up the box. I HAD NO INTENT ON shooting any one ... i just bought from a friends house and the fastest way home was to cut through the school grounds but i saw a bus there that was going to leave so i went on it and then the security guard randomly asked me to open up the box..........................THE CALLED THE POLICE and now im in the books and i have to go to family court.........i have never got introuble this year and with five days left of school this happened doesn't matter what the intent was know one else knows what you were going to do with it and with all the violence these days they were right to suspend you (did they suspend you for the rest of the year or a full school year?) a year is a little extreme but I think the gun should have been taken away/parents called/ and discipline done. sorry but think next time before you do something like this. GOOD LUCK tv is right on this one. How would a judge know if you had no intent on shooting someone? Maybe the person you wanted to shoot was not there and you did not get your chance. You get caught and just say "I did not intend to shoot someone". There is no way to prove your intentions. You could say anything. The law says that weapons are not to be brought on to school property. It does not say anything about intentions. You brought a weapon on to school property and got caught. I believe that this case is justified. Schools can't judge people based on what they claim their intent was. Someone could say they brought a gun with no intent of using it - it was just for show and tell - and if the school doesn't do anything about it and then the kid uses it later, the school can be liable. You knew the consequences of your actions ... you took the chance and did it anyway. You should not have had it on school grounds in the first place, let alone take it on the school bus with you. Whether or not you had any intention to use this weapon is irrelevant. The law is *possession*, not always inclusive of *intent.* Your intent is irrelevent. The only fact that matters is that you brought it on to the bus. However, I do agree that the penalty is harsh for the offense. This is what happens when zero-tolerance policies are enacted. There's no room for common sense judgement to be applied. You made a big mistake. Most School Safety policies are "no mercy" when violated. yes, you should not have any sort of guns on school grounds, you took the chance now must pay the price No, it's not right. Now if anyone wants to ditch school for a year, they'll just bring loaded weapons on a bus. You know guns aren't allowed on any type of school property so yes. Yes actually I do. Rules are rules YOU GOT OFF EASY. IF THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED THE COPS WE MAY HAVE SEEN YOU ON THE NEWS. Yes, your lucky that is all you got out of it. If you posted this, you are way too old not to know better. Seriously, you have to be old enough to heard of the 0 tolerance policy. |
