I have a neighborwho has a camera aiming at my back yard . she calls the pound and other agencies wat can i do

the only thing i got in trouble for was i was letting someone stay in an outdoor builing cause they had nowhere to go. and she called code enforcement . i have one dog the cries at night cause she stays outside at night and she has called the pound saying that we hurt our animals and that has been disproved. we have lived here a yr and every month its a new complaint from her. My daughter and her son had ated for a period of time then broke up and thats when all this started but she wont stop. everyone says tha there is nothing i can do. can anyone help? she also has security lights aiming at my back yard

You can complain about the lights aimed at your back yard. Tell code enforcement that the lights keep you from sleeping. the cameras are an invasion of your privacy. You could sue her for that. You should also complain to code enforcement about her using their agency for revenge. I would also call the police and ask about the legality of her actions, and file a complaint with them.

Have you considered aiming a search light at her camera? That would prevent it from taking pictures.

If she has a camera aiming at your back yard she is violating your privacy. Thge courts woul;d make her remove it if you can show that she is photographing you and yours.
The lights too are illegal trespass. Ask the city inspectors to compel her to remove them or re aim them.
You had probably best speak to a lawyer who is experienced in property rights law.
The odds are you can file suit agsainst the neighbor for
harrassment.

What she is doing is illegal. She is not allowed to tape or take pictures of anything going on in your backyard. As long as your dog has food, water and shelter you are doing nothing wrong. You need to file a complaint with either your home owner association, your local police department or the city.

Well, that camera is invasion of privacy, and it does violate several laws.

My advice would be to down to the sherrif's office or police stations and see what you can do about it that's within the law.

Hope you can sort this out.

shes not allowed to tape what goes on in your back yard without your permission.call the police and have them pay her a visit.and if that doesnt work.put a camera up aimed at her back yard.arent pain in the *** neighbors just the kind of people youd like to push in front of a train??

Speak to the police or an attorney. Laws are specific to cities, but I think you would have an "expectation of privacy" in your back yard.

Get your own camera and your own security light and aim them at her back yard. See how she feels about it. Don't let her have the upper hand or you will never have any peace in your own home.

Contrary to some other responses, it is not automatically illegal to film what happens in someone else's backyard. A few years back a couple were having sex in a hot tub in their backyard, their neighbor saw it through their window and filmed it for evidence and then had the neighbors arrested for lewd behavior and public indecency. The courts upheld that taping the couple was legal and that the couple had no reasonable expectation of privacy in their backyard.
The laws have consistently upheld the premise that anything you can see while standing on public property or on your own property is considered public. This may not be the case in instances where a person must take unusual measures to see you. For example, if I can see your backyard from my window or while engaging in normal activities around my yard then your backyard is public. I can't, however, cut a hole through a fence to get a look at you and consider it public, however.
The security light could be considered a public nuisance if it really is aimed at your backyard. You could take her to court to get her to move the light. There is not much more you could do than that.
Although I did just read a story about a man who was annoyed that his neighbor built a terrace patio that overlooks his entire yard. He responded by building a 16-foot high brick wall along the property line. Now the neighbor can't see into his yard or much of anything else for that matter.
