Sue security guard for defamation?

Let's say you were shopping and a security guard grabbed you , said 'gotcha' and then dragged you away. Several shoopers saw this as well as a local news team. Can you sue the security guard for defamation if you were not stealing anything? Are security and police protected?

i think you're out of luck.

you would have to prove that what he did caused you a loss.

You would have to prove he did it to injure you and you would have to show the actual damage it caused you from a loss of reputation.
