How much social security does my child get?

I got a call from the social security office today because my daughter's dad applied for social security and got approved. They said she will get some as well. How much is this going to be? Any idea? Either way, its a blessing...we've had no child support her whole life.

Thanks.

Her check will be for 1/2 the amount that her father gets.

Is it SSI Disability? My wifes son gets $630 a month from his Dads filing. As a sidenote, are you owed back child support through a court order? If so, it can be garnished from your ex's SSI checks.

Call, identify yourself and ask.
