How do i recieve my social security benefit check? |
im 17 and my father passed away recently. i receive a social security benefit check. the checks are made out to the parent/guardian of "me" so my mother was receiving my checks. now that i no longer live with her i was wondering how i can recieve them in my name and have them sent to my new address You cannot get the checks in your name until you are 18. Your mother is still your guardian so the checks will come in her name until that time. If you are no longer in school,the checks will stop. the benefits are for your GUARDIAN to care for you. Contact your social security office they can tell you. |
