Is the police aloud to obtain someones social security number off of them if the do not have there license?

my brother is using my social security number as a drivers license and getting tickets. What should i do?

File identity theft charges on your brother, using someone else's SS is a felony.

Ouch. This is going to be a real pain for you.

If you get pulled over and you don't have a license on you, you have to persuade the cops of your identity, or you'll be arrested. If you can give them a name and SS# that checks out, that will usually do it. So he gives them YOUR name and SS#, the cops issue YOU a ticket, and he goes on his way.

You're going to need to challenge EVERY ONE of those tickets individually, or they will go on your driving record. Do NOT waste time... about the only evidence you will have that it wasn't you is the cops recollection of what the person he gave a ticket to looked like - and that recollection will get hazy fast, as cops issue a LOT of tickets.

You're going to need a lawyer, and it's going to cost you quite a lot of money - but you can go after your brother to pay for it.

This is not going to be easy, First you are going to have to hire a lawyer. He will know all the right things to do. If you have credit cards, I'm sure he is going to tell you to cancel them and notify the credit co.'s and your Bank that someone is using your identification. There is a case of this already going on and it's a bit confusing. Good luck.
