I was caught shoplifting 2 months ago. i cant seem to make myself to forget it. Im paranoid. what should i do? |
the security guards took down my informations, name, id, etc. For these 2 months i have not stop thinking about the incident n hate myself for doing it. i know i cant turn back time but now its like im different. bad different. i feel different from others. i feel so small. i cant stp thinking about it n wishing i didnt do it. how? what should i do now? i wanna move on but i cant. pls advice. yes. its definately a lesson to learn. thanks you guys for being suportive. :) really appreciate it. it's called guilt and it is a good thing that you feel that way. you have learned a lesson. you aren't bad; you made a mistake in judgment. the way you are feeling now will imprint upon you to use good judgment. i shop lifted and got caught when i was 14 or 15. the store took all of my info and then told me i had to go home, tell my mom and have her call them. the shame i felt having to tell my mom was unbearable and i cried and cried and begged for her forgiveness and to not be embarrassed of me and my behavior. i got grounded but the shame of what i did made me take a good long look at myself and who i was hanging around with and i made some changes...good changes. i still think about it every rare now and again and i am 50! apologize to your parents and write a letter to the store apologizing. you will feel good for doing it and it is good therapy for your soul. good luck. It would be wise NOT to forget. As long as it bothers you, maybe you won't repeat it. Read about Freud's notion of the Super-Ego. It is one's moral consciousness. This is definitely something to learn from, don't forget and you probably won't do it again. You have made a mistake, you are human. You havent killed anyone and you can move on. repent. |
