Can you carry a gun if you are a felon? |
Can you carry a gun legally if you are a felon? And can you get a job as an officer, bounty hunter or armed security guard? No, you are not allowed to own a gun or have a gun in your possesion. You can't even go hunting with a gun. You could carry a gun as a felon, but it would be illegal. Unless you have your rights restored, which you can after 10 years from my understanding, then you will not be able to carry a gun legally at all. You could still become an unarmed security guard and then after your record is cleaned up you might still be able to pursue a career in law enforcement. There is a way you can ask the courts to remove it from your record for a fee. You should check with your local courts to see what needs to be done No, sorry you lose all your rights when you are a felon and it's hard to ever get anyone to have faith in you enough to give you the chance you may need. NO I DON'T THINK YOU CAN IN ALL 50 STATES. IF YOU ARE CAUGTH WITH ONE GOOD LUCK YOU DON'T GET A LOT OF TIME! THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU ACT. you can't carry a firearm or be in law enforcement if you are a convicted felon. Most, if not all states prohibit a convicted felon from possessing a firearm. I believe that if you were convicted as a felon that you are prohibited from carrying any firearms. No, but felons tend to not care what the law says. I would hope not. |
