S.I.A security industry authority?

Anyone had this problem or similar:
My partner is a security officer and had to apply for an sia license, in order to do this he had to give them original of passport for id, he got his licenses in October but they still haven't returned the passport, so they've had it for about 8 months now.
i've tried calling but always on holds for up to 2 hours only to be disconnected without speaking to someone and i've emailed them strong worded "not swearing" just that i'd turn to legal....false threats just wanted to see if they'd respond but didn't can anyone advice me on this? the passport office just said report as lost/stolen passport and apply for a replacement which involves 拢80 fee and another countersignatory.

Over the last few years their have been numerous complaints made about the SIA, I mentioned in a previous question you asked who to complain to once you have exhausted their own in house scheme)

Anyway as a result of the complaints and general bad press a special task force was set up to investigate the problems and certain recommendations were made, which are either in the process of being looked at, implemented, or explained.

You can read the report here its quite hefty, but its not going to help your case asking here you need to use their inhouse complaints procedure first

and then complain to ESA, who only become involved once the SIA have failed to resolve the matter.

I haven't. that's because I haven't come across them at all.
