Are concert security guards allowed to use force to make someone leave the concert after the show? |
I was at a concert and waiting (a bunch of other people were too) afterwards (less than 10min after the end of the show) because the crew was handing out set lists and a security officer said that i needed to leave and i said i'm waiting while they hand out stuff he pushed my arm and said leave... was he allowed to do this? i responded by leaving but i think he was just trying to provoke me into getting aggressive so he'd have the chance to force me out... i think he just wanted everyone to clear out quick so he could go home sooner.... is there anyone i should report this to if it happens in the future? When some 300+ lbs muscle-bound guy decides you should leave, you're probably smart for doing so. When the concert is over and it was time to go, the guards should have told the people from the show to STOP handing out stuff in addition to telling everyone to go home. No, that would be excessive force. He had every right to verbally tell you to leave, but based from you just said (and it does sound like you did provoke him somehow), he shouldn't have physically forced you. If you said, "No, I'm staying" and sat down, then yeah, he had every right to physically make you leave. You can report it to his supervisor or whatever company he works for next time. You want to report him for pushing your arm? How old are? 8? Technically, once the concert is over and you have been asked to leave, your license (permission to be on the property) is over, you become a trespasser, and the owner (or his agents) have the privilege of using physical force (non-deadly) to force you to leave. |
