I heard that if you try to opt out of Medicare you don't get your social security is this true?

Is there any articles that you can point me to on this subject

NO, that is not true People opt out of Medicare all the time when they have private insurance through a previous employer or a spouses employer, you can log on to Firstgov.gov and follow the prompts to the medicare site or you can call the 800 number and they will give you the info and send you the paper work, I opt out and still receive Social Security.~
