Your opinion of "FITNA" the dutch movie criticizing the koran ?

yesterday the much anticipated release of the dutch film by mr. wilders, " FITNA" . his life has been threatend and he is under constant police security for his protection. the film gives many direct quotes from the koran, in english, arabic and dutch. the quotes of versus that tell muslims to kill non-muslims, and to terrorize all the un-believers, etc. it also has speeches from muslim clerics telling there followers to murder jews, and christians, and unfaithfull wives etc. watch the movie and give your opinion please.

I think it's a masterpiece, and should win the oscar for best foriegn film as it speaks the truth about Islam; and Islam is ugly.

Answer to the movie fitna

I read an article about Fitna and the death threats against Geert Wilder as a response, so I was naturally curious to see how horrifically blasphemous and offensive it was.

Honestly, I feel as if the message was toned down. The only provocation in the movie is the provocation to not blindly follow the spoonfed hatred of Islamic religious leaders. Wilder wanted to make Muslims stop and think why the world fears their religion, and their insane, barbaric response calling for him to be beheaded has taken Islam back centuries in Europe.

If all who question Islam are to be killed, then I stand with Wilder and call for this nonsense to end. All religion must be subject to scrutiny. All religion must be open to discussion. No religion should be held above reason with sword and blood. The 57 countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference must not encourage this inhuman, evil response.

Islam is an ideology. It is a faith, with good intentions, but when people can pervert the words of the Qu'ran and call out hits on those who stand against the twisted words of these false religious leaders that are then encouraged by world leaders, it is a sickness and atrocious. I can only hope that Muslims will practice the peace they preach and not lose themselves in this sickness.

Nothing wrong with exposing the truth. Nothing at all.

Good for them not giving into those people who don't like to be looked into!

I'm OK with anything that criticizes the Koran. Or the Bible for that matter.

just watched it. i think the fact that Wilders has recieved DEATH THREATS and LiveLeak has removed the movie because of DEATH THREATS speaks volumes.

I watched it, out of general interest in Islam (and, not being Muslim I wasn't going to be offended by it).

I think the MP has previously made some good points; Islam probably does need updating, and many muslims react very angrily to any criticism against them. Indeed, both Turkey and Egypt have conducting studies on modernisation of the religion.

However, Fitna goes beyond that. The movie is not a serious look at the problems in the Koran, or even a focus on the so-called 'sword verses'. It is downright provocation and he should loose his job and police protection in my (non-dutch, non-muslim) view.

It opens with one of the cartoons of Mohammed even, when you know how offensive that is due to recent (violent) protests, why bother?
