Can an employer reduce full time workers hours? |
I am a security supervisor on a site and my management want to implement a rolling roster. Some officers work a 60 hour week at the moment and will be reduced to mostly 48 hour weeks. Can they do this? Yep. They can drop your hours down to one per week if they wanted to. That is the nature of business. You have the right to complain or find another job if you don't like it. one word YES yes if you are directly employed by the company you should have a contract of employment in the small print it will state about hours of work . if the company you are working for has not given you a contract of employment do the bastards Not only can they cut back your hours, they can let you go without cause if they want. the short answer to this is yes quite simply YES . Their contracts will stipulate far below that, so yes. 'The man' needs a good kicking. |
