Can They Legally Tow My Car?

My mom lives in a town home that has a home owners association, when I was living there they told me that in order to get a parking pass for residents my car had to be registered there. so I did, but i moved out of there like 8 months ago and removed the resident sticker and started parking in the guest parking using the guest pass everytime i visit and had no problem, but the other day i was leaving to go home and realized they towed my car, my mom called security and they said its cuz residents cant park in guest parking my mom told them I dont live there and they said the car is registered there, Im not on the lease or anything, It cost about 300 dollars to get my car out.... Is there anything I can do?

Also how did they know the car is registered to that address isnt my vehicel registration suppose to be confidental?

Yes they can legally tow your car! You should of re-registered your car as soon as you moved out. Sucks but what they did was right. Sorry!!

Home owners associations tend to be quite high handed and authoritative. You didn't abide by their rules, so they exercised their power. Pay the bill and obey their rules. I know, I know.

You can sue them, but that will probably cost more than $300.

Huh? You registered it there, you said so. Has nothing to do with your vehicle registration, it means you registered with THEM.

I agree, there is nothing you'll be able to do about it that will cost you less than the $300.

Small claims, but it's not worth it, is it?
