I have a bill that I didnt pay... how can they track me?

I got a plumbing bill about 2 months ago, and all the information that I gave the person was my Name, my cell phone number and my address. They came while I was gone and didnt fix the problem because I wasnt there to tell them what was wrong. Then, 2 weeks later I get a bill for $80 or something, and I was so pissed and swore I wouldnt pay.

The reason I think I can get away with it is that they only have my name and address, so as soon as I move, the next person will get the bill and complain, and I will be out of the system and they'll never find me. They dont have my social security number, so what can they do to prove it's me??

How did they get in the house if you were not home?
Did anybody sign any document saying they were there? (like a wife daughter that's of age, housekeeper etc?)
If it wasn't fixed how do you know they were there.?
Just asking, because if these answers are No. You have recourse, let them go ahead and sue, then you will win the case and be off the hook.
If they don't have signed document that has your sig. on it, I don't think they can do anything

Why are you NOT going to pay it?

Yes, you should pay it. Here is one thing that could happen. They send you a certified letter informing you that you need to pay or they take you to court. You either refuse the letter or if you have moved, it will be returned to the sender. Then, the company can go to small claims court and get a judgement against you for not pay (you will know have to pay the court fees). If the judge orders a judgement and you do not pay, a order can be sent to the DMV to suspend your driver license.
If this happens, you will NOT be able to obtain a driver license anywhere in the US.

Maybe they don't have your SS#, but are you renting? Your landlords would have the number, and with a court order could give it to the Plumbing Co. Also, they probabally have a list of family and friends, and can contact them to get to your information and address. Also, all they have to do is look on the internet, look up your name and the internet will give your address and phone number. There are many ways they can track you down. Do you have any evidence that the plumbing company did not fix the problems they were asked to fix? Are they just charging you a fee because they came out and you weren't there? You should pay for it, because if or when you moved and if you had to have the plumbing turned on in your new place and your account shows an unpaid balance, they won't turn it on until the account is paid and current.

They'll find you if you owe them money. And isn't moving to a different location to avoid an $80 bill much more expensive than paying it? Grow a pair and if you have a dispute about the service they provided you settle it in person or on the phone.
