Patriot Act 2 - Final Blow To American Freedom?

This question is for those persons living in what's left of the United States.

Have any of you been asked to show your identification for store purchases over $50 dollars?

I was asked to present my driver's license in a supermarket last week for a cash purchase. I refused and requested that the store manager be called. I explained to him that clearly written on all US notes read the words, "for all debts public and private." This ensures anonymity and precludes any need to show your papers.

The manager was nice but wanted to keep our conversation quiet off to the side and out of earshot from other customers. He told me that Homoland Security had gone to the store's regional division 4 months ago and said they must begin enforcing provisions in the Patriot Act 2.

It turned out that the store manager didn't care for the communists' plan to engineer a police state in America and told the checkout girl to let me pass.

Anyone else with a similar experience lately?

BTW, Another one of the stipulations in Patriot Act 2 is that Americans cannot buy and store (e.g. hoard) more than two weeks of food. Failure to comply is a felony punishable by fine or imprisonment - or both.

You must just look like a terrorist. What were you buying, explosive material? I have never heard of this nor have I read anything about it in the legislation.
