Security liscense?

my brother has a child abuse charge against him but want to apply for a security job in dc,md, or va. he didn't do any time for the charge he got probation. i looked in rules for apply for security i didn't see any sayin he couldn't apply wit a misdemeanor charge. i was wonderin if any body knows if he can apply with this charge or not

my question in not the conviction. IT WHETER OR NOT HE CAN GET A LISCENSE WITH THE CHARGE. THE DC SECURITY TEST ONLY STATES THAT YOU CAN'T APPLY FOR TWO YEARS AFTER HAVING A DRUG CONVICTION OR WEAPONS CHARGE WHICH IS A FELONY OR COMING OUT OF JAIL. HIS IS A MISDEMEANOR FOR WHICH HE SERVED NO TIME.

That will vary from stat to state. I only know a little about VA. I am assuming you are talking about DCJS registrations. I know that having minor things on your record will not exclude you from passing, but it will definitely reduce the likely hood that you will. His best bet is to be candid with his potential employer about the whole thing. If you try to lie about it on your registration then it is all over. If you try to cover anything up about your past then they will fail you right away. As long as it is not a felony you will have a chance in VA though.

A conviction is a conviction.
