Social security card hasnt arrived?

dear all,

4 weeks ago, my friend and i went to out local social security office and requested for a replacement for my friend's card. she also gave her new address so that they would mail it. They havent mailed it yet and we are thoroughly worried as to what happened. usually it comes in a week because we live in the city. Any idea why it is taking so much time?

Also, is there a way I can complain against the lady at the social security office - she was very unprofessional and treated us very badly ....

It's taking a lot of time, i have also applied for a first time since i got my green card almost 3 weeks ago and i know i am a different process maybe cause they have to check with INS if i am eligible to work in the US eventhough i proved that i can, anyway, everybody tells me it should take from 3 to 4 weeks and i went back last weekend (friday) and the lady told me that it usually takes 8 weeks but just implemented a new system that it takes 6 weeks. Still it's a lot of time and since your friend already had one i recomend going back and taking what ever proof you guys may have that you requested it and they should tell you if it's in the mail or not. The 1-800 will not help you, just go again and they HAVE to tell you what's the status. (i am going back this friday to check my status)
