What Mall Security changes are going to discussed in light of this recent shooting?

Given the recent events in Nebraska, and the Media's future question of "missing the signs" on the person who did the shooting and the "how did he get a gun into the mall鈥?what kind of security changes could they expect? Will Americans be ok with metal detectors at every door, armed security guards walking around with riffles present, searches of people entering and exiting the mall and stores, Special Response Teams? It will be just like a prison.

I guess I can name a lot of changes that could be made to prevent this guy getting into the mall, but all that would do is force him outside into the parking lot to do the same thing.
I don't think there is anything that can be done to prevent things like this from happening, only things that could be initiated to reduce causalities.

probably not too many changes, you don't want to mes with the marketplace.....

But i can see consumers shifting their shopping online.

You forgot legal citizens having 'individual rights' to carry concealed.

n-n-n-n--n-n--n-n-n-none! going to the mall would be so gay if u had to show everyone what u have on u. private security forces dont have the right to invade privacy

missing the signs is some bull! There is no way that you can stop something like that because it is an attack coming from within. No matter what we do, we will never find a way to get around privacy laws. I mean how would you like to be frisked every time you walked into a mall. If somebody is sick enough to go out and shoot somebody, they will find people, whether it's on the street, in a mall, or in a school. It's a harsh reality but it's something you have to face. I do think that people who have mental problems should not be allowed to own guns

This isn't the first mall shooting. I don't think anything would really change.
