Security cameras in stores??? |
if a big dollar store's security camera recorded someone stealing something (like a pack of pens) but they walked out and left successfully will they be able to find the person??? Unlikely that the dollar store would be able to find this 'person.' If someone who works at the store recognizes the thief on the tape or if the thief has used a credit/debit card and a cashier happens to remember the purchase, you could be connected back. Otherwise, I doubt the store would pursue the thief for a pack of pens. This person should not go back in the store, though. EVER. Maybe...you do something wrong of planning on it? probally ... but its probally not worth the hassle just for a pack of pens .. if they got the picture of the person, and want to pursue a conviction, they can certainly press charges once they figure out who it is. What, did you steal a pack of $1.00 pens from the Dollor Store? yes they can, they post pictures at the store of people who walked out and look for them again when they return. After that, they can hold you because of your previous visit. yes they will find you. as manager of one of these stores. we take a picture of you from the video, and show it to all of our employess. when you come back we got you... not only is it a bad idea to steal. do you know that once you are convicted,. the conviction will stay on your record, and if you ever apply for work, most business and employers do a back ground check. so you will find it hard to get work. do not steal, plain and simple. most all stores now have video, so you might get away for a minute, but it will bite you when you least expect it. Store security has to apprehend the "thief" no later than that person exiting the store. They have to wait and see if the person intends on leaving the premises without paying for whatever item it is they have on them. They can't do anything before that and if they do anything at all it has to be as the person is trying to leave. If someone gets away with it and they catch it on tape later, nothing can be done. Even if that same person was to go into that store again. They cant bust you for something that already happened days before. Police can arrest you with significant evidence and depending on how expensive the item is, they may do so. Yes, they could give the tape to the police, who could arrest you if they found you. well, they could find you on the tape and then give it to the police and they can keep an eye out for you. yes. they stole a pack of pens on Sunday... they walked around the corner to Walgreen's and returned it there for 79 cents plus tax. then they came back on Monday to buy 8 packages of ramen noodles...you found them. go to www.techcctv.com or give them a call they can help |
