Social Security Number, Do i need to change it? |
I'm with an student visa F1 and I would like to ask for a work permit. I have a Social Security Number because I came to the U.S. with a J1 Visa and then I changed it. Do I need to ask for another SS# or not? contact the INS they should be able to answer the question better then anyone on YA Your social security # is permanent. You can not change your social security number EVER. It's permanent. I dont think you can change it. You can't change a Social Security Number once it has been issued. Your SSN is permanently assigned to you. You only get 1 SSN and it lasts you wherever you move or how many times you get married and divorced or whatever. It is yours until you expire. |
