Can I get social security payments for my child if his dad was murdered and he never worked?

My child's father was murdered in 2004 and I contacted social security and they denied my child because his father never worked. I know someone right noe that recieves social security for a father that never worked. How can I go about getting this and who should I contact?

Actually you wouldn't ask for social security benefits in the fathers name cause if he never worked he never paid anything into the account.

Some people think the government has all this social security money just sitting there waiting to be asked for. That money was put there by the American tax payer for his/her own retirement.

It originally was intended for the American worker to have funds taken from his pay check each week to be put in the social security account, so that when he/she was to old to work, they could retire and receive a few hundred bucks a month (could be compared to a savings account, which our government appears to be giving away to others who haven't put a dime in). It doesn't even include medical, needless to say it in itself isn't enough money to live on.

So contrary to what the govenment says, retirees still have to work after retirement to make ends meet UNLESS they also have put money in a personal retirement account. Trust me there isn't going to be 70 million Americans retiring from work in the next few years, it just isn't financially possible.

I have a family member who thought she could retire at 63 years old after working as a nurse for 20 years. Her health is bad so she quit her job after filing for Social Security benefits, she got the benefits but doesn't qualify for medicare until she reaches 66. So she had to go back to work even though she's physically not able. Yet they'll give it to those who've never worked in the US, such as new people in the country, children and babies?

Some Americans that have worked still don't qualify for it cause they didn't work long enough, they haven't earned enough points. If I remember correctly you need something like 40 points. Working about 10 years while paying social security taxes usually qualifies the person. To many people in this country only pay sales & property tax, while collecting social security, medicaid and other benefits, thus the pot is about empty.

If you're illegally in the US you can get all the benefits, SSI, HUD, medicaid, WIC. If you're a white American, you may be out of luck, our government discriminates against white folks. However your baby can get WIC, food stamps and Medicaid. You can find all these in the phone book.

you can file a appeal but it sounds iffy that your daughter will collect anything if the Dad never worked/paid into Social Security

Sorry for your childs loss

i believe you can speak to one of the SSI attorneys. they always deny your first claim at the SSI office and usually refer you to them, but you can always ask to talk to one.

A child cannot collect on a parent that did not pay in unless the parent was recieving SSI for a disability. We found this out when my friend died and all her mother could collect for the childs support was welfare.

Probably. You should check with one of those ambulance chaser lawyers that advertise that they can get fat useless fvcks SS disability, they can probably help you out.

I doubt it,if the father didn't pay anything into the system, there is nothing there to collect from. You might qualify for some help from welfare depending on your income.

Social security is not an entitlement. you get it because you pay in. If he never worked, he never paid in. Unless he was legally disabled and getting SSI there is no way you can quailify. If he got SSI then your child would qualify. Otherwise there is nothing.
