Can you still be a Security Guard if you were in Prison? |
A know someone who was in Albion prison in New York and she is now supposedly a Security Guard in NYC. How does that work? I thought you could NOT be a security guard an officer if you have a record or a felony. That wasn't the question to be answered with an opinion. The question needs to be answered factually. I am asking because she stole my license back in 2004. She went to prison for setting her house on fire and molesting her 2 yr old daughter. Here - it is 'possible' [in this state] to work for a security guard company. BUT your felony must be older than 20 years and expunged after 20 years. Still cannot be armed. Depends on what crime you were in prison for, and everyone deserves a second chance to make a better life. Can't be an armed guard because a felon cannot carry a gun. Beyond that, it is up to the company. if they can hire felons and still get contracts, no law prohibits it. If she is a Felon... she can still be hired as a Security Guard, however, due to the felony record... she cannot ever legally own or posses a gun. |
