Do you know where your social security is going?

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.
You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.. Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement.

Your statement is not accurate. Congressmen get a portion of their pay based on time and average salary. I don't see a problem with this. My retirement savings are from pension, profit sharing, 4001K from the companies I have worked at. Congress works for the government and like all government employees should have a pension plan. Social Security at best is and should be a minimal amount of retirement support. Individuals and the companies they would for should save for retirement rather than depend on SS.

You can actually probably expect to get $0 a month...Social Security is inevitably collapsing.

Please tell us your source for this information?

Reality is they are under federal mandate to pay social security and they get a federal pension commensurate with the number of years they spend in service to our country.

Unless Congress is different from other Federal emloyees you are mistaken. The federal employees I know DO pay into their retirement fund, and when they retire they will recieve about 65 % of their salary. Now, granted, that is guarenteed jsut like SS, although they do have the option of putting their money into high risk or safe funds.

Before making such specious allegations, you might want to spend a moment or two ascertaining the truth.
Your story is a falsehood.

Down the proverbial budget toilet, I fear.

These systems don't work.

You said it all, in the pockets of the politicos.
