Is the social security and medicare tax fair?

I am a tax preparer. The IRS insists people pay taxes. They even want illegal income claimed. Ok cool it brought down Capone. Then you got the foreign people here legally or not. They even provide a way for illegal or with visas without a SSN# to file taxes. They get a Tax ID# once they fill out a W7. But, THE BIG BUT, they are still liable for Social Security Taxes as well as Medicare taxes. Yet they are unable to claim benefits at 65. I am an 8th generation red blooded American who believes in justice and the fairness of government and law. But I find it outrageous. Is this the way the Gov wants to shore up the stumbling SS trust fund? As I was typing this I thought to my self 鈥渟o if they finish the process and do acquire a SSN# perhaps they get the amount credited to them when they age.鈥?So where does the unaccounted money go? Blackopps?

No. I will never see my social security money, but what do you expect from a seventy year old ponzie scheme

why are we paying two, social security and the taxes for social security when they announce that likely they will have trouble for senior when the x generation reach their senior years that we may not see it then what the hell are we paying taxes for social security for? Report It

Im making around almost 40 thous a year and found out this 13 thou dollars all go to the taxes from federal to local isn't this a bit too much? whats next gas tax to help us lower gas? Report It

why not change it into a bank as the government "borrow" from our check taxes and refund when we are old.... all those money from my check adds up will never match how much they will or will not give me when i retire in 25 years from now. Report It

it need millions of people to protest in Washington dc and show that we dont want to pay social security taxes. Report It

When i discuss this with people they always say "what can we do" LOOK at the history::: they protest and fight don't lay back and say oh well i cant do nothing its not true we can change this Report It

I think you were making a statement more than you were asking a question, but the answer about the "unaccounted money" is that it goes into the general fund of the US, from which Congress appropriates funds for spending.

they pay for the pirviledge of working here and making money that someone here could be making. they can't get that back and it's not underhanded but part of the deal they made.
the money goes to the same place my father's went when he died before collecting any!!
