Can you install security cameras around your house that record 24/7?

I need to know if you are allowed to install security cameras around your home in Washington or is that against some type of civil liberties law

Yes, you may install cameras around your house, but you may not install them in such a way that you record events that are not happening off of your own property.

Some states require notification that recording is in place on a private residence. Some cities require that the cameras must be motion triggered (though this is rare). Check with security firms in your area, as they would know the laws governing camera use.

yes i have that in my house

yes you can , my sister in law has on in north carolina

yes you can

Yes, but it has to be a camera that records movement.

yes on your own property you can, but have to put notices up clear to all saying that cctv is in operation, warnings about being recorded and they must not be able to record in others private spaces, like over a garden wall in to next door.

this is in UK

I would think it would be a violation of your constitutional rights to prohibit you from installing cameras on your own property. Brinks and other security systems install that stuff and then charge you a monthly fee for monitoring so why shouldn't you be able to do it yourself and monitor it yourself? Just check with your local police department and your fire department if the system you install calls the police or fire department automatically. You could have some problems if they have to come out for false alarms.

If it is your house. a lot of people hid cameras to watch and see how baby sitters interact with the children when they are away it goes on at movement so you don't waste film taking pictures of a wall. Set it up and then play it when you come home and see if she watches her favorite soap while the baby screams his head off. or ever changes his diapers.
Especially if you ever notice bruses.

why would you think it would be agenst the law to install something on your house for security reasons
you can put up moshion lights with out any recourse
so yes i would think that you can
uhh the only thing i think might be an issue is if that camera was looking down in your yard and had a view of a nighbors window then someone could say something but other than that it is leagel in all ways you have the right to protect your home
