How many Churches have security that is armed?

In the super church shooting in Colorado the security guards were armed. I have been to many churches through out the world and there are only two places that I have seen armed guards in a church, the Vatican and Jerusalem.

Later in the AP articles they mention security was beefed up security in light of the morning shootings in the Denver suburb. Looks like they did this for good reason.

I haven't seen an article yet that says the weapons were part of the extra steps though, so they may have just added extra guards.

Something about armed security at a church just makes me not want to attend the church for many reasons. I could see the wacko church in Kansas that see happiness in our soldiers deaths needing armed security but nowhere else.

How many mega churches have armed security? It kind of goes against their teaching.

Only those without true faith have armed guards.

I know, right? I was just thinking about that when I read the story. I believe that church bumped up their security today, because of what happened earlier. Good thing they did. Jeez, we're not safe in church either.

Protecting yourself & not allowing yourself to be a victim does not go against most Christian faiths. There's no reason why people shouldn't take advantage of their rights to own & carry weapons. The fact that you can't seem to go to school, church, or the mall without getting shot at these days is pretty distressing, and I wish more people would realize, the cops aren't going to get there fast enough, and even if they do, they don't do much until the shooting rampage is over.

Jim Jones Peoples Temple had armed guards. Some of the Polygamist cults in the 4 corners area do as well.

The key words are "places that I have SEEN armed guards". There are more armed responsible people than you know because most carry concealed.
