Can you use the social security number of someone who has died?


i found a website where you can look up all the information of somone who has died and it even shows there social security number, can some one use there information and is it legal.

ok first of all im not trin to use someones info ok so lets get that straight, the only reason why i posted this question was because im concern and was wonderin if wather its legal it just didnt seem right. go to familysearch.org and look in death recored and just type in a last name and it shows a list of people there info and social

YEs, you could theoretically use it. BUT, you would be guilty of Identity Theft, a felony in most states.

I don't think it is legal to be publishing peoples social security numbers. I would report them to Social Security!
