What are liberty and security concerns relating to border security?

I mean in terms with the United States

Illegal entrants must be treated humanely when apprehended and must be accorded human rights inherent to them.

Security issues: We need a secure border. Think about it like this, do you feel more secure on a sidewalk near a ghetto or in an upper-class gated comunity?

Liberty: The main issue is the government getting the right to look through incoming packages, information, etc. Personally I think that a wall built across the southern border would do more good than survalance of incoming items, although a certain amount of that is necesary as well.

The only liberty issue would involve American citizens, if you are talking about American enforcement of its borders. The liberty issue would be the freedom of American citizens to re-enter the U.S. after traveling internationally. Security issues would seem obvious.
