Why is it that some people look down on security at there job? |
I know not everyone does this, but there are a few at my job. I do security (and no im not at work right now lol) and there are a few people who just look at us like where crap under there feet. I mean some people may think its a lazy job, but im doing it while im in college because it works out perfectly with my scooling. So do any of you feel this way about security at your job? Why do you? People whose job it is to say no and to prevent the main order of business of location from happening are just in the way. Because they are very very important! Just ask them and they'll tell you. These are the same butt heads who cut you off in traffic, rush through a door and let it shut on your face, etc..etc..etc....you know the type. are you a cop or a rent a cop that is some people think rent a cops are not as high on the food chain as a real cop. This is just one opinion. I worked in an ER and security was vital. It just depends on how well you do your job. Just do your job well and forget the other people. Don't take it personally, they probably pick on others, too. Insecure people do that. I work in the security feild{We makes rounds and check the attic and stairwells}.But I'm not a rent-a-cop.I help the people who live here{It's a high-rise condo} when they have a problem so they love me.Some of the people working here{In Maint or housekeeping etc}seem to not appreciate what we do but i just assume they're the ones smoking pot in the stairwells and worry about us catching them.Or stealing from the supply closet or wtfever the problem is.Some of them are jelous they sweat and lift heavy stuff all day while you just walk around and make the same amount they do.But on the other hand I've seen dead bodies, assisted emergancy personnel, and helped put out fires on property.Putting my life at risk to make ruffly the same wage they make.I treat these people the same way they treat me. I think a lot of college students get jobs that are usually low work and low stress...although I know security isn't always this way...i don't look down on any of those..mcdonald's workers, or any of that...and actually I always liked the security workers cause they're the ones who could save my butt one day...lol... |
