Is security at concerts allowed to take your camera then force you to delete pictures taken? |
Camera taken at Kylie concert, marched out of concert, forced to leave bag and coat behind, refused to give camera back, forced to delete all memory card, camera withheld before allowed back into venue and given back after concert finish. Yes, you shouldn't of taken it in in the first place, images from the concert are copyrighted. Yeah its allowed because there are usually signs saying no pictures or no cameras allowed in and its usually on the back of your ticket aswell. Wow! Thats a little harsh!!!! I always thought once you've taken a picture that picture belongs to you. Yes, they can not allow cameras and delete pics. They gave it back to you. It does suck. You are going to the wrong concerts. Now if you were at a BLACK LABEL SOCIETY concert you could take all the pictures you want because they are interested in rocking you socks off not pinching every nickle they can out of the experience. Were there signs posted, Clearly telling you they were not allowed? If not you have a lawsuit for your property. Security cannot put their hands on you, they are not police. It usually says onthe ticket that no Photography or recording of the concert will be allowed, so yes the security bods are doing their jobs as unfortunate as it is. They were quite right to do that. You were lucky they let you back in. There are signs everywhere telling you and warning you of the consequences. The warning would also have been on your ticket in the small print. Yes they can. Sorry to hear they treated you like that though instead of just holding your camera until the end. The rights to a concert such as the one you describe, belong to the artists and their companies who pay to put on the concert in the first place. In most cases these people have royalty rights and not just for the music but also for the entire event, which will be shown on TV around the globe. Yes.. basically when you buy that concert ticket, you entered into a legal contract, that has conditions on attendance. If it sez no photos, it means no photos. If you took photos you broke the contract. AGIUS 1520 -------IS CORRECT Sisimia this all sounds heavy handed as you describe it and i think you should check whether there was any notice at all to the effect NO CAMERAS and if you find there was none! at that time then take legal advice as they have no right to put their hands on you that's assault and they have no authority to make you unload your camera and hold it, they could find themselves with a problem so if you find you weren't guilty of infringement! push it these security guys get carried away at times Don't moan. The preconditions of sale for the tickets clearly stated that no cameras were to be taken. The copyright to any and all images recorded at the concerts belongs to Kylie. I agree with you. Your low grade pictures are not ANY threat to the artists income! The problem is that music and film rights are now so draconian that we, the paying public have no rights to anything that we pay for with jail sentences longer than for murder. was it a good concert ?. its one you wont forget in a hurry. |
