Do security camersmake one feel safer?

Security cameras that are monitored continously. The taping iof incidents is only good for recovery after the fact.

they make me feel infringed upon.

i don't think they make me feel safer....for all we know, there could be some sort of perv watching us on the other end. and who knows how many of those cams are real and how many are plastic

If its for your home, some people feel safer, and it can be a deterrent. It cannot stop a crime, but can be very useful in putting someone behind bars, or just showing documentation. As for stores, well they are just trying to stop shoplifters, and can be a good witness if needed. Now a days, you never know who is watching.

We have secutiry cameras at our home and yes, they do make us feel safer. We put them up because we had a prowler...they would leave gates open and steal small things from the yard. After the cameras and lites went up....no more prowler!!!
