Will social security pay for a funeral? |
One of my best friends who was 19 and on social secuity passed away and i just want to know if they will pay for his funeral. That's correct that the lump sum is $255 but it is paid only to surviving spouse OR defendant child. But in order to receive it the decedent has to have paid into SSA. No. There's a $255 death benefit for a spouse, but nothing else. Only in a case of a wife or husband death. |
