How has the security in American airports changed after 9-11?

How has the security in American airports changed after 9-11?

A number of ineffective measures were introduced. None of the measures were based on any evidence that there was a plot to smuggle guns or explosives on to planes at that time. No terrorists have yet been caught at a security checkpoint in an airport.

Note that the 9/11 hijackers all had valid ID, were properly booked on a flight, and had nothing suspicious (even under current regulations) in their carry on bags. The knives they used were placed on the plane by others; they did not carry them on.

The security measures have been designed as a showpiece to make citizens feel something is being done to protect them. Meanwhile there is little or no screening of checked luggage (the easiest way to attack a plane, as seen in many plane bombings over the years). Airlines cite cost and delay as the reasons NOT to screen checked baggage.

And cargo planes are still not searched; freight shipped on passenger planes is not inspected; and none of the container ships entering our ports are screened for radiation or contraband.

The government has really not implemented any useful security procedures.

.. it went from laid-back to full-cavity .. its ridiculous .. i dont feel safer.

Security changed a lot!!!
Last time I travelled to USA they even check the hills of my high hills shoes!!!
You can not travel with liquid medicin (imagine if you are using homeophaty, what wil you do?) or any other liquit, not even a bottle of water!!!
And I can list too many other things!
It麓s really awful!!!

A friend of mind just returned from a month in Egypt. He said it was a "*****" getting out of the US, but very easy getting in and out of Italy and Egypt and back into the US. No.

I don't know other than that old lady didn't have any bombs in her shoes or in her under pants.
