In Pennsylvania, can a person collect unemployment compensation and social security at the same time?

I'm being let go by my employer and I will be 62. So can I collect unemployment compensation and file for social security benefits at the same time.

No. You have to be available to work to get unemployment. If you take early retirement, you get Social Security, but you would only be allowed to make about $12,500 per year or you will have to give up one-half of your SS benefits.

To draw unemployment, you need to be able and available for work. You also are required to show any income. Being two government agencies, you will get caught quickly.
