Should they make security checkpoints at schools like they do at airports? |
Something needs to be done people are going to be scared to go to school. If you can convince kids to show up an extra 2 hours early to school everyday Yes, because they work so well at airports. hell i agree it's getting very dangerous just to attend school All public middle and high schools here already have metal detectors and bag checks when you enter. Metal detectors are a great idea and students should be using more computer applications and therefore need fewer of the books and notebooks - so back-pack sizes could be restricted to make security checks easier. It do not think someone needs to make you take off your shoes and coat, but a metal detector and opening your backpack for review should be normal - kids should not be able to bring in weapons and even with very stiff penalties and zero tolerance, they do it. All public schools do not have metal detectors and security devices! I was a teacher in a public school, and a substitute in the area schools. None had security of any kind. My advice to students and teachers: Keep your classroom door locked, install security cameras in the classroom (to prevent lawsuits because your door is locked) and keep the blinds closed. Also, more money should be spent on mental health issues. I think because the world is so stressful, that mental illness is becoming a greater problem. What is that going to accomplish? How ? Why ? |
