Another Craigslist Scam?

Hi, i just got an email about a motorcycle i am selling and ive dealt with many scams on here before but this one seems legit for some reason. One reason i believe it is possibly real is
1. Person gives a phone number
2. the phone number is accurate with the town of Hibbing MN (searched on reverse phone dective)
3. The person is asking for the deal to be done in MN/IA not africa and not through western union. What do you think

close the deal in person with a witness and get cash or a cash equivalent....also check their license to prove they are who they say they are and write down their license number

also go to your state's DMV/Sec of State website and search for an FAQ of what is required to sell the bike legally (assuming it's above 50cc's)

Yes it is a scam......

That number could be an Internet number, or even a real person in the US trying to rip you off with a collaborator in Africa.

Either way, no one buys bikes on craigslist and pays by check, and asks you to ship elsewhere.

If they offer to pay by check and talk about shipping expenses before you even know what's going on it is 100% a 419 african scam.....not neccesarily in africa, but it is certainly a scam.

Just tell him that you only do transactions in person for your own protection. Then politely decline.

And when you do sell it, insist on going to the bank (whatever bank they use) with the person and having them cash a check and give you the money first. Then write them a receipt marked as is. And to ensure you are not robbed, turn around and open and account with the money while you are there before you exit the bank with that much cash. Anyone who is put off or offended by this does not need to do business with you. And meet the person at the bank, not your home address. Do not give out your home address. They could be robbing your home while you are at the bank.

Well, if he is to willing to do the deal in person or have a representitive do the transaction.. it's probably not legit.
