his parents past away, he filed a affadvit Re: Real property of small value whats next,the title still shows his parents name and he needs a title in his name. whats step #2. Help me help him. Does he have 2 file the certified copy he received back with the recorder if so what form is that under Has he probated his parents estate? If not then legally he can't make the property his. The estate must be settled before assests such as property can be transfered to the heirs. Call the title company should have the answer for you but I think he needs to file a warranty deed or a quit claim deed. Once either two of those are filed the title should be changed to his name. |
