What is the liability for an event that has sponsors with similar products for sale at same event?

None, unless there is some sort of contractual obligation not to host a vendor with a similar product. Just because your booth is selling Pepsi doesn't block the booth next to you from selling Coke...unless the contract says otherwise. If it does, then you're dealing with contract breach and penalties therefor.
