In the Swearing of an Oath for "A Grant of Probate" is it necessary to swear on a Bible ? |
I had to do this recently but The Bible wasn't even mentioned and I wonder if should have been and is the Oath still strictly legal ? No it is not necessary to use the bible. No, you are perfectly free to affirm. The affirmation is as binding on the person making it as the oath. "Solemn affirmation" is the route for those who don't have any religion. The oath is still legal. Yes, the oath is legal. |
