How long do you have to probate a will in Georgia?

Can we do it ourselves? I downloaded the "Petition to Probate Will in Common Form". I'm trying to help my mother-in-law. I'm going to file for an extension for their Income Tax Return. Anything else we need to do?

If you have not filed the Will with the court house and then petition the court for probate, there is a 1 year statute of limitations where the court can order a mandatory probate, if the Will is not contested then it would be to every ones advantage to go forward with it, if you feel the need you can usually get the advise of an attorney for about 150.00 an hour and get instructions for completing the process.~
