Personal Injury? Slander? Wrongful Termination?

Today at work i was pulled into a meeting where i was accused of using profanity. A co-worker stated that I had used the "F" word around her at work. First off i did not, nor have i ever, used that word at work. Secondly i have 4 witnesses that say I never said that word whatsoever at work.

At the end of the meeting i was told that a decision will be made tomorrow about what punishment will result.

If i am terminated would this be a wrongful termination?

Also do i have grounds for a personal injury case against the co-worker?

You have witnesses, and coworker has no proof.
I'd be amazed if they terminate you. You may get a
reprimand or warning put in your record. If so, tell them
you object and want your protest entered into your record with it, along with the signed statements of your four witnesses.

Tell them you would like to file a complaint your coworker for making false accusations.

You have a decent case if fired. However, it is probably not worth it to pursue it. If your employer has half a brain and believes your coworker, they'll let this go and find another reason to fire you, like "your services are no longer required" which is extremely hard to fight.

Ask yourself what you want out of this. Do you want to stay in this job? Do you want to remedy this? Think this through when planning your course of action.

Stuff like this realllly sucks, doesn't it? Good luck!
